Marr’s SALAD DREsSING RECIPE Book 7 VALENTINE SALAD Combine, and heat to boiling, 2 cups pear syrup or the syrup plus water, 144 to 4% teaspoon ground ginger. Add, stirring until dissolved, 1 package (for 1 pint) strawberry flavored gelatin. Pour ¥ inch in bottom of 1 quart or individual molds, chill until set. Trim into heart shape, 6 cooked or canned pear halves. Fill cavity of each pear with a maraschino cherry. Arrange cut side down on firm gelatin. Add carefully another 4 inch of gelatin to hold pears in shape and chill. Add remaining gelatin. Cool until firmly set. Unmold on bed of greens and serve with Marr’s Old Fashion Boiled Salad Dressing or Marr’s Wonder Whip Salad Dressing. Serves six. Mrs. Carla Church, Winnipeg, Man. LENTEN SALAD CUTLETS 1 cup finely chopped celery _1 tablespoon finely chopped onion 1 pound tin salmon 3 tegen salt 1 cup cracker crumbs teaspoon paprika Vf cup Marr’s Old Fashion Boiled Salad Dressing Parboil the celery for about 10 minutes, drain. Remove skin and bones from salmon and flake. Mix celery, salmon, 44 cup cracker crumbs, seasoning and Salad Dressing. Form into cutlets, roll in the remaining cracker crumbs and brown in hot melted shortening. Garnish with parsley and serve. Mrs. J. Cole, Winnipeg, Man. CHEESE SALAD - 2 cups diced ham V4 cup grated raw carrot 1 cup cheese cut in strips 1 small onion chopped fine 2 cups shredded cabbage 44 cup Marr’s Salad Dressing Mix all vegetables and toss lightly with dressing.
