Mix rolled oats and flour. Combine salt, soda and sugar and fat with boiling water. Pour into dry ingredients. Mix quickly. Then roll out very thin, while dough is Still warm. Cut into desired shapes. Bake at about 400 degrees in oven until a light brown. These are better day after baking. Mrs. Ethel Taylor PEANUT BUTTER COOKIES 14 c. flour 4c. shortening 4 tsp. soda 14, ¢. peanut butter 4 tsp. salt 2 eggs 4c. granulated 4% c. chopped peanuts sugar 1 tsp. vanilla nn c. firmly packed brown sugar Sift flour once. Measure then add soda and salt. Sift into mixing bowl. Blend in sugars, shortening, peanut butter and eggs and vanilla. Beat well. Add peanuts. Form into balls. Place on greased cookie Sheet. Bake in a moderate oven of 350 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes.
