10 Quick and Easy Sauce For either luncheon meat, 1” ham slice, can- ned ham, large dinner sausage or Italian pork sausage. 2 cups catsup 23 cup ROGERS’ GOLDEN SYRUP 11% tsp. garlic salt 6 thin lemon slices Preheat oven to 350°F. Mix catsup, syrup and garlic salt together. Baste constantly with sauce and cook until golden. If using ham slices: gently pan fry ham and then place lemon slices on top and baste frequently with sauce. Turn and repeat on other side. If using sausage: either parboil and then pan fry, topping with lemon slices and sauce, or do in hot oven 400°F. for 20 or 30 min. Delectable. Quick & Easy Raisin Coffee Loaf 1 loaf sliced raisin bread ¥%4 cup Golden Yellow Sugar, packed ¥3 cup ROGERS’ GOLDEN SYRUP V2 cup butter % tsp. cinnamon Sprinkling of granulated sugar Combine sugar and syrup, butter and cinna- mon, then blend. Spread one side of each slice with sugar mixture, putting loaf back together as slices are spread. Hold loaf together by placing in loaf tin or tying. Spread remaining sugar mixture on top. Bake at 350°F. for 25 min. or until toasted. Sprinkle with granulated sugar. Serve hot. Serves 8. Spiced Pineapple Pick-ups 2—15 oz. cans pineapple chunks ¥%4 cup vinegar 1% cup granulated sugar Dash of salt 8 cloves, whole 1—4” piece stick cinnamon Drain syrup from pineapple the day before. To %4 cup pineapple syrup, add vinegar, sugar, salt, cloves and cinnamon. Heat 10 min. Add pineapple chunks: bring to a boil. Refrigerate until time to serve. To serve: Drain pineapple and place on toothpicks. Serve cold as Hors d’Oeuvres or use as garnish around turkey, chicken or fruit salad. Save sauce and use for glazing ham or turkey. Cranberry Sauce 1 Ib. cranberries 2 cups water 2 cups granulated sugar Boil 10 minutes. Serve with chicken or turkey. For a tangy effect add 3 tbsp. grated orange rind. Tropical Fruit Delight 1 cup finely cut dates ¥%4 cup water 14 cup figs, cut | ¥%4 cup ROGERS’ GOLDEN SYRUP ¥4 cup coarsely chopped pecans Cook together dates, water, figs and syrup over low heat 15 to 20 mins. Allow to thicken. Remove from heat and add pecans. Serve warm or cool over ice cream. Makes 1% cups sauce. Hard Sauce 13 cup butter 1 cup Berry Sugar 1 tsp. vanilla flavoring Beat softened butter until fluffy, add Berry Sugar gradually. Continue beating until very light. Add flavoring. To make a lighter sauce add 1 tbsp. of cream and beat into mixture before adding flavoring. Chill until firm.
