Bavarian Pink Pinwheels 1 basic jelly roll 2 envelopes unflavored gelatin 2 cups sweetened sliced fresh strawberries, 1 or 2 10-oz. pkgs. frozen Y3 cup cold water 2 T. lemon juice Yo t. salt 2 cups heavy cream (whipped) About 5 to 8 1-inch slices jelly roll Have berries at room temperature. Soften gelatin in cold water, dissolve over hot water. Stir in strawberries lemon juice and salt. Chill until partially set. Fold in whipped cream, tint pink with a few drops of food coloring. Line sides of 8’’ or 9”’ round cake pan preferably with wax paper. Place jelly roll slices around inside edge of pan and place the remaining slices in the bottom of pan. Fill with starwberry mixture. Chill until firm. (about 4 hours). Mrs. Alivna Haslebeck Ste. Rose, Man. 3 Cheese Cake 1 pkg. lemon jello ‘small’ Y4 cup sugar 1 cup boiling water Mix well and let set a little. Whip one tall can Pacific milk which has been thoroughly chilled. Add jello mixture beating as you add. Soften one pkg. 8 oz. cream cheese, add 2 cup sugar and 3 cup concentrated lemonade, then beat into first mixture. Pour into large pan covered with 24 graham wafer. 5 T. butter, 4 T. sugar. Sprinkle few crumbs on top. Good with cherry pie filling or strawberries. Mrs. Trudy Prikker Ste. Rose, Man. Graham Wafer Cake Crush 28 wafers, rub in 2 cup butter. Put in half in g pan, keep rest for topping. Chill one can Carnation well. Dissolve one lemon jello powder in 2 cup boiling water, cool well. Beat milk, carnation will double in bulk, as whipped cream, add one cup white sugar and jelly mixture. Beat well, pour crumbs in pan, top with layer of crumbs. Chill in fridge well. Mrs. Anna Masson Orange Tapioca Fluff 2 T. quick cooking Tapioca 2 T. sugar dash salt 1 egg yolk ] cup orange juice 1 egg white 2 T. sugar Combine tapioca, sugar, salt. Blend in egg yolk and orange juice and let stand for 5 mins. Bring to a boil over moderate heat, stirring often. Remove from heat. Beat egg whites until soft peaks form then gradually add 2 T. sugar until stiff peaks form. Fold orange mixture into egg whites mixture and cool. Spoon into dessert dishes and chill.
