FRUIT COOKIES 2 cups sugar 4 cup citron peel 1 cup butter 2 eggs 1 cup sour milk 1 tsp cinnamon 2 cups stoned and chopped raisins 1 tsp cloves 1 cup currants 1 tsp soda Enough flour to make a little stiffer than ordinary cookies. Add molasses and soda dissolved in water. Sift together flour, cinnamon and salt, add to mixture. Stir in oats, raisins and nuts. Drop from teaspoon onto an ungreased baking sheet. Bake in moderate oven 375° about ten to twelve minutes. Makes 4 dozen. OLD FASHIONED OATMEAL COOKIES 3 cups fine oatmeal 34 Cup sugar 1 cup butter 14% cup flour 1 tsp salt Y cup flour 1 cup hot water Put soda and butter in hot water and pour over oatmeal, then mix in other ingredients and chill if necessary.
