Crisco % cup flour ¥ tsp. salt ¥, tsp. ground pepper Add: 1 tsp. celery seed Chopped stalks and leaves from top of head of celery (approx. 1 cup) _ 2 medium onions sliced Enough water to simmer meat gently Simmer until meat is tender — about 1% hours Add: Small whole potatoes Small whole carrots Cook until done Add 1 tsp. Kitchen Bouquet Shake in instant flour our to thicken gravy. Stir gently. Elaine Cook — “‘Hallowe’en” HUNGARIAN BEEF STEW (made in frypan) 1 lb. stew beef, trimmed and cut in 1” cubes 1 dessertspoon paprika 1 medium onion, chopped 1 tsp. sugar 1 - 15 oz. tin tomatoes A little beer 1 dessertspoon tomato ketchup Oil for frying Roll meat in flour and brown in oil. Add the onion and brown. Add tomatoes, sugar, ketchup and paprika. Cover and cook for half hour. If stew seems a bit dry, add a little beer, salt to taste. Cook until tender.
