APPLESAUCE CAKE No. 2

4 cup margarine 1 tsp. baking soda

1 cup sugar 2 tsp. baking powder
l egg 1 cup raisins

1 cup thick applesauce 4 tsp. cinnamon

% tsp. salt + tsp. mace

1 tsp. vanilla 2 cups flour

Cream margarine and sugar, add egg and applesauce. Mix, then
add dry ingredients, mix thoroughly. Bake in 350 degree oven.

QUEEN ELIZABETH CAKE

1 cup cut dates
1 tsp. baking soda
1 cup boiling water

Pour boiling water over dates and soda, let cool,

1 cup butter | 1 tsp. baking powder
1 cup white sugar Pinch of salt

l egg Vanilla

14 cup flour

Add date mixture to butter, sugar and egg mixture which have
been creamed, Add flour, bake in 8 or 10 inch pan in 350 oven,

Icing

5 tbsp. brown sugar % cup coconut

2 tbsp. cream or canned 3 tbsp. butter
milk

Boil 3 minutes, pour over hot cake, Bake in oven under
broiler until brown,
