ORANGE CRUMB FRENCH TOAST Ree rot ew 2 eggs 3 tbsp. shortening x Caps Belt 1 cup maple flavored or 2/3 cup orange juice maple blended syrup 3/4 cup fine dry bread % cup orange juice crumbs 1 tsp. grated orange rind 1 tsp. grated orange rind butter or margarine 8 slices white bread Combine eggs, salt and the 2/3 cup orange juice. Beat together thoroughly. Combine bread crumbs with the first tsp. grated orange rind. Dip bread slices in the egg and orange mixture then in the crumb mixture turning slices to coat evenly. Brown on both sides in the shortening on a hot griddle. Meanwhile, combine syrup with the % cup orange juice and second tsp. grated orange rind. Simmer 5 minutes. Serve French Toast with the hot orange syrup and butter. Serves 4, Mrs.Dorothy Phillips,President,Pion-Era Ladies Auxiliary "NEVER FAIL" CREAM PUFFS (Makes 6 large puffs) % cup butter % cup sifted flour x tep.- sate 2 eggs *% cup boiling water Add butter and salt to boiling water in saucepan and bring to boil. Add flour all at once and stir vigorously until mixture forms a stiff ball. Remove from heat. Add eggs one at a time. Beat well after each addition, until mixture is smooth, I use my mix master and set at a medium speed. Shape puffs on lightly buttered cookie sheet by dropping from tablespoon. Bake in a hot oven of 425 degrees for 15 minutes. Then reduce to 375 degrees for 25 minutes. Cool. .. continued
