This pamphlet is intended as a guide to those who are un- familiar with what our beaches can provide and are anxious to learn. We are lucky indeed to live or holiday on the sea-coast of British Columbia, where a small effort on our part can pro- duce a wonderful meal. The old saying of “ when the tide is out the table is set for dinner ” still holds true. The city dweller, used to the wares of the supermarket, can be assured that much the beach has to offer comes individually packaged in clean handsome containers that are as beautiful as they are practical. There really is so much more to clamming, oystering, etc., than just another cheap meal; it is hoped that those who partake in the hunt will discover something of the variety and beauty of the seashore and so nourish both body and mind.
