Candy Cake F. Ford

1/2 cup butter 1 tsp. vanilla
4 1/2 cups brown sugar 2 cups oatmeal
1 cup raisins 1 tsp. soda

1 cup walnuts

Boil butter and brown sugar for a few minutes and remove from
heat. Add remaining ingredients in order listed. Press flat
in pan and bake 10 minutes in hot oven... Cut in squares while
hot, but leave in pan. When cool break into squares.

Red Devil Chocolate Cake | M. Quigley
1/4 cup butter 11/2 tsp. baking powder
1 cup white sugar 1/2 cup boiling water
2 eges 1 tsp. soda
2 squares chocolate 1/2 cup sour milk
: SS vanilla

Pour boiling water over chocolate and soda. and stir. Cool.
Cream butter and sugar, add beaten eggs. Add first cup of

flour and sour milk, chocolate mixture. Sift 1/2 cup floun,
baking powder and salt. Bake at 3550 degrees for 25 minutes.

Boiled Raisin Cake : R. Appleton
1 cup brown sugar | ‘1 cup raisin water

1 egg a 1 tsp. soda

1/2 cup shortening 2 cups flour

1 cup raisins (Sultana)

Boil raisins in 1 1/2 cups water. Let cool. Drain water off
and if you haven't a cup full add water. Put soda in raisin

water and add to other ingredients. Bake in moderate oven un-
wre done.

To remove rust from the corners of cake tins that have been in

use for a long time, dip a raw pane? in cleaning powder and
scour. P
