(3 0z.) strawberry jello powder Prepare and bake one 9-inch pie shell. Cool. Wash and hull strawberries. Drain well. Slice strawberries and place in pie shell. Keep 2 cup for top. Combine sugar, water and cornstarch in saucepan and cook over low heat until mixture is clear and thickened (about 2 mins.) add 1 pkg. of strawberry jello and stir jello until dissolved. Chill and set. If desired top with whipped cream or icecream. This pie can also be made using raspberries and raspberry jello or peaches and 12 t. ascorbic acid and apple jello. Pumpkin Pie 1% cups cooked pumpkin 4/3 cup brown sugar Yo t. ginger 1 t. cinnamon Yq, t. salt 2 eggs 2 cups milk or 1 cup milk and 1 cup cream Mix sugar, ginger, cinnamon and salt together and add to pumpkin. Beat eggs and add milk, combine with pumpkin mixture. Pour into deep pie tin with unbaked pastry and place in a hot oven 450 for 15 minutes to start the baking of the pastry. Reduce the heat to 350 and bake until the filling is firm. To taste when done, insert a knife into the filling, if done the knife will come out clean.
