Add milk and blend well. Add all dry ingredients. Spread half of the batter in 9 inch square pan. Spread blueberries and add 2 tbsp. sugar. Cover with remaining batter. Sprinkle top with 4 tbsp. sugar and 4% tsp. cinnamon. Bake at 375 degrees for 45-55 minutes. Cool and cut in squares. This is very nice served warm with whipping cream or.ice cream, Mrs. Doris Wilson LEMON BREAD 4c. shortening 14 c. sifted flour 1 c. white sugar Pinch of salt Grated rind of 1 tsp. baking powder 1 lemon 4 ¢. milk 2 eggs (beaten) Cream shortening; add sugar and beaten eggs. Mix in dry ingredients and milk. Bake for 45 minutes at 350 degrees in loaf pan. Mix juice of 1 lemon (or more if desired) with 4% c. sugar. Spoon over loaf when hot from oven.
