Smith have been drilling for oil on the Kenne- dy farm Sumas prairie and have so far encountered a similar gas flow as that struck by D. Kennedy when he bored for water last fall. "The hole is now capped at a depth of 550 feet and the pressure of gas will project a flame about 12 inches, It is not yet proven if the gas is mineral or vegetable, but tests are being made.
