Add the remaining ingredients. Pack in a pan, set in a cool place overnight. Slice and bake in a hot oven (375 degrees). WALNUT ROLLS 2 eggs 3 teaspoons flour Y |b. brown sugar Y% teaspoon baking powder Y |b. chopped walnuts Y2 teaspoon salt Drop in half-teaspoonfuls on well-oiled pan and roll while hot. Bake at 325 degrees for 10 minutes. OATMEAL COOKIES 1 cup sugar 1 teaspoon soda 1 cup lard or shortening 2 cups flour 1 cup sour milk 2 cups oatmeal 1 egg 1 teaspoon each cinnamon, 1 teaspoon salt nutmeg and cloves 1 cup raisins Cream sugar and shortening well. Add egg and beat. Add the dry ingredients (sifted together) alternately with the sour milk. Add the oatmeal and raisins. Bake in a moderate oven (375 degrees) about 15 minutes. Makes about 4 dozen. Topping 2 eggs 2 tablespoons flour 3% cup dark corn syrup Y2 teaspoon salt Y% cup brown sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla Beat eggs until foamy, add rest of ingredients and mix well. Pour over partially baked crust. Sprinkle 34 cup of pecans over the mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes. OATMEAL COOKIES 1 cup butter 1 cup cocoanut Ya cup white sugar 13%4 cups flour Y2 cup brown sugar 1 teaspoon soda 2 eggs 1 teaspoon baking powder 1 cup oatmeal Y2 teaspoon salt Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and beat, add oatmeal and cocoanut. Sift flour, soda, baking powder and salt and add to first mixture. Roll batter in small balls and flatten with fork. Bake in a moderate oven about 18 minutes. LUSCIOUS SHORTBREAD 1 cup butter 1 egg yolk Yo cup berry sugar 2 cups sifted flour Cream butter, add sugar gradually creaming after each addition until light and fluffy. Add egg yolk and stir well. Sift and add flour gradually, blend well. Knead dough until firm. Roll out dough, small amounts at a time, to half-inch thickness, on lightly floured board (flouring hands, board and cutter). Cut with cookie cutter in desired shapes. Bit of red cherry on top before baking adds to appearance. Bake at 325 degrees for 18 to 20 minutes or until done.
