CLUB HOLDS CORN ROAST The M-S-A C.C.Y.M. club held a corn roast at Kelleher’s Land- ing, Ridgedale, on Friday evening, and there were about 23 young people of the district in atten- dance, The next activity of this club will be held at the Parish Hall, Abbotsford, on Sept. 25 at 8 p.m. when the girls are requested to bring a basket lunch. Tessaro gave a report on a recent South Fraser District Board meeting held in Chilli- wack at which plans were drawn up for the forth-coming Fall Con- ference, to be held on Oct. 2nd and 3rd in the Masonic Hall in Chilliwack. All members are urged to at- tend. Mrs. Fred Corbett was appointed delegate with Mrs. V. Tessaro alternate. Mrs. Albert Lee was congratul- ated and tendered a arty vote of thanks for her work through out the war years in connection with the Soldier’s Comforts Club. Funds remaining for this work were turned over to the general Fund and the Club discontinued, though provision has been made to send parcels to any of the local boys who might be. still overseas at Christmas time. It was decided to send the Salvation Army $10 and the local Fair Board $5. Mrs. Leavitt, who was appoint- ed Chairman of the National Clothing Collection in the Sumas District, outlined some of her plans in connection with ~ the work, and’the Board of Directors are-asked to meet with her at any early date to arrange the campaign in this community which takes place Oct.
