HOSPITAL MANAGERS INSPECT
BUILDING IMPROVEMENTS

A deluge of bills, total over
swamped the hospital Bae Ree
monthly meeting, held on Monday
last. One item was $1,258.76, a contrac-
tor's statement’for various work he had
done improving the service room, mak-
ing changes in the nurses’ quarters, and
building accommodation for the refri-
geration plant. The balance covered
current expenses, supplies, salaries of
staff and incidentals. That tangible
values had resulted from the recent
spend-fest was proyen to the managers
when they inspected the beautifully-
tiled service room, modern electrical
refrigerator, and cozy sleeping quar-
ters and parlor for the staff. Num-
erous improvements to plumbing, elec-
tical wiring and structural finishing
are yet underway, which, when com-
plete, will undoubtedly prove worthy
of the expense entailed.

A letter was read from the A. F, &
A, M, lodge, enclosing a cheque for $50
donation towards furnishings for the
nurses’ parlor. The managers passed a
vote of thanks for this gift,

The Secretary read a letter from Al-
dergrove B.P.O.E. stating that the
lodge was not able to take a life mem-
bership with the Hospital Society at
present because of financial obligations
upon the Elks Home, hut would later
give the proposal favorable considerd-
tion.
The Secretary was given permission
to write off the books accounts totalling
$209.45, which were over six years old.
Collection of $145.05, accounts overdue
for six months, was reported by the
Secretary.
A laundry bill of $80 for May wash-
ing occasioned comment, the Matron
being consulted for details. Messrs. Mc-
Callum, Webster and Weir were named
to interview Mrs. Moret and ascertain
if she would install a sterilizer should
she be given a contract for the laundry.
