CHERRY SURPRISE BALLS 1 cup shortening + tsp. salt + cup icing sugar 1 cup chopped almonds 2 cups all purpose flour 4 1b. maraschino cherries Mix all ingredients together except cherries. Flatten about 1 tsp. dough in palm of hand. Put cherry on top and roll in hand, Place on greased sheet and bake in 325 to 350 oven about 20 to 25 minutes, While hot roll in fine sugar. UNCOOKEW APRICOT DROPS 1 cup dried apricots + cup nut meats 1 cup raisins + cup fine Graham Wafer 5 cup dates crumbs 1 1/3 mixed peel 3 tbsp. orange juice Soak dried apricots in hot water for half hour. Drain. Put raisins, dates, nuts and Graham crumbs through food chopper. Mix all ingredients and chill. Roll into balls and roll in Graham crumbs, Mrs. M. James HONEY WALNUT DROPS 1 cup sugar 1 tsp. salt 1 cup honey . . cup sour cream 2/3 cup shortening 1 cup chopped nuts 3 eggs 2 cup flaked cocoanut 32 cups flour 1 tsp. vanilla 1 tsp. baking soda Cream sugar, honey, shortening and eggs, Sift flour, soda and salt. Add dry ingredients alternately with sour cream to creamed mixture, Stir in walnuts, cocoanut and vanilla. Drop by teaspoon on greased baking sheet. Top each cookie with walnut or cocoanut, bake at 375 for 10 to 12 minutes. Makes 7 or 8 dozen cookies,
