botsford young people, Olive Elaine,
second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T,
McNelly and Mr. Kendall Gordon
Kelly, youngest son of Mr .and Mrs,
Kelly, took place at the home of the
bride’s parents on August 21st, with
Rey. Mr. Donaldson of Clayburn of-
ficiating,

The bride, given in marriage by her
father, wore a gown of white satin
and lace. Her hat was of white silk
straw and she carried a bouquet of
bridal roses and pink carnations, Miss
Margaret Stirling as maid of honor,
wore a pale pink net dress and a
wide-brimmed mohair hat to match

carnations, Miss Phyllis MeNelly, as
bridesmaid, wore yellow flowered or-

Langley To Have Acrodrome

Tenders are being called by the De-
partment of National Defence for the
development of an “intermediate aer-
odrome” at Langley Prairie.

working for some time in New Wesi-
minster, has returned home.

Mesdames King and Benedict en-
tertained a few friends at bridge at
the home of the latter on Tuesday ev-
ening, in honor of Miss Isabelle Ar-
thur of the library staff, who is leav-
ing on Friday for Toronto, where she

will study law.

Vancouver Boating Scenes

A new house is being erected on
the Sumas highway, just east of Ab-
botsford, for Mr. T. Mathers, on pro-
perty near his warehouse. The hom:

was recently destroyed by fire, and

Mr. and Mrs, Mathers will reside here.

Moret at the week-end. Mr. Minaker
is Mrs. Moret’s brother.

Miss K. Hynd, who has been visit-
ing her aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs.
Lamont for the past two weeks, has
returned to her home in Seattle.

‘An exceptionally fine crop of field
corn is to be seen at the farm of H.
Conway, a four acre crop averaging
over twelve feet in height. Several
stalks are over fourteen feet high.

Rev. and Mrs. R. Moses will return
this week after a month’s holiday
spent in and around Vancouver, Mr.
Moses will take charge of the services
at Trinity United church next Suyi-
day.
