THE DAILY PROVINCE NOVEMBER 3, 1910 LAW’S DELAY GIVES RESPITE TO RAHIM ------------------Hindu Will Not Be Deported Tomorrow, as Case Is Unheard. ------------------H. Rahim, manager of the Canada India Supply & Trust Company, a Hindu, whose deportation has been ordered by the Dominion immigration authorities, will probably not sail for Honolulu tomorrow, the date first set for his departure. The law’s delay will give him a respite. When habeas corpus proceedings were commenced by Rahim, and an order nial(?) was issued by the courts, it was impossible to find a Supreme Court justice before whom the case might be argued. Mr. Justice Murphy was presiding at the New Westminster assizes and so unattainable. The result is that the deportation of Rahim, if he is to be deported, must be adjourned until he has a hearing. Rahim is at present out on cash bail of $1000.
