What is a Stargate? It is a means by which one can cross any distance, and travel to any geographical or temporal point -- instantaneously. The exact location at which one crosses over -- the actual border or boundary between entrance and exit, is an amorphous, iridescent, vitreous substance. Anything that traverses the Stargate does so by being changed into pure energy, and then being reconstituted on the other side -- the same, but different.
