Farrier Training program instructor Robert (Bob) Marshall and a second man hold a grey mule. According to FVC calendars, the program was first offered part time in 1974-1975 and continued until at least 1979. The Ministry transferred the Dawson Creek Vocational School program to Fraser Valley College. Dawson Creek instructor Gary Cooper was hired for program development at FVC. The farrier program offered a 12-week Basic Program ($15 per month) and a 3-week Advanced Program ($50). The Advanced program was for experienced farriers to upgrade in hot shoeing and forgework. Bob Marshall was picked up at the Vancouver Airport in September 1974 to become the Farrier Training instructor. Marshall holds the RSS (Registered Shoeing Smith) and Worshipful Company of Farriers the designations. The Farrier Training program was initially offered in Chilliwack and then at the Farrier Barn at Action Auction at 34368 Harris Road, Matsqui (7 miles from the Abbotsford campus).
